ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Andrew J. Armas.

I like long walks on the beach, a romantic candlelight din—oh, wait, wrong website...

Currently, I am the Assistant Technical Director at the North Carolina Ballet in Raleigh, NC. During Summer 2019, I had the privilege of being the Technical Director for Mcleod Summer Playhouse that featured The Full Monty, Gypsy, Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical, and The Drowsy Chaperone.
I graduated from Southern Illinois University with an MFA in Theater Design and Production (focus in Technical Direction and Scenic Design) in August 2018. During my graduate program, I had an assistantship in the scenic shop as one of the shop supervisors and carpenters, as well as being a teaching assistant in Beginning Stagecraft Scenery , Technical Direction, Scenic Painting and Scenic Design.

Other notable works include: scenic designing for Gem of the Ocean and completing my technical direction thesis production, Spring Awakening. In Spring 2017, I scenic designed Peter and the Starcatcher and over the summer, I worked as an Assistant Technical Director for the 2017 season of the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Their season included Guys & Dolls, Midsummer's Night Dream, Treasure Island and other productions.

I am a focused worker; detailed-oriented, creative thinker and I have a desire to learn. I am constantly finding ways to grow and develop my trade and I will always put 110% into all projects or tasks I tackle.
